July 2020 – September 2020; Funded by Drosos Foundation, the Embassy of the Netherlands in Cairo, Queen Mary University and Landscapes of Hope.

In response to the Covid-19 pandemic, Athar Lina launched an online programme for children and women that included:

An online heritage and photography modules for the Athar Lina Heritage Design Thinking School.
Love Letters to al-Khalifa, a film program in partnership with Queen Mary University.
Practical and behavioral tips and tools for al-Khalifa’s women to use with their children during lock-down in partnership with a behavioural therapist.
In partnership with Landscapes of Hope, this experience was turned into a documentary film.

ABOUT

Athar Lina is a participatory conservation initiative that aims to establish modalities of citizen participation in heritage conservation based on an understanding of the monument as a resource not a burden.
