Storytelling workshop – Chirine El-Ansary: Season 2, Professional program, Athar Lina Heritage Design Thinking School.
11 Oct, 2020
How does a place inspire us? How can it trigger our imagination?
Using El-Khalifa and the layers of stories, events, anecdotes, people, buildings that have - over the years - contributed to making it such a unique neighbourhood, the workshop attendees will train their observation skills and learn to recognise what in their surroundings can be used to construct a powerful narrative.
Participants will acquire storytelling skills and techniques: how to structure a story, how to create images, and turn an ear into an eye so that listeners feel they are watching rather than listening. What mistakes are to be avoided. How to stand in front of an audience, how to use body, voice, words, and space.
At the end of the workshop, all participants will have the opportunity to have a collective storytelling performance to the public to encourage them to start their own storytelling journey.
