Between Two Gates: A tour through the Squares and Markets of al-Khalifa The charm of old cities is more often than not found in the harmonic conjunction of its mobile heritage and the vigorous daily lives and activities of the populations that have been residing in it throughout the years. A perfect example of this magical fusion is to be found in long-established, long-standing, long-lived and time-honored city, Cairo. The walls of its historical edifices tell the forgotten stories of kings and sultans that ruled for a great many dynasties while its squares and markets give an account of the lives of the ordinary citizens occupying them. Let’s understand and appreciate this unique and timeless blend together in our Squares and Markets Tour. Tour Itinerary: We will assemble at “Bab El Azab” in Salah al-Din Square to start the tour where one will get to: 1- Learn about the history of Salah al-Din Square and the mosques surrounding it. 2- Explore the suq of al-Sayyida ‘A’isha and the remnants of Qaramidan square 3- Visit the museum of Mustafa Kamil located in the garden of the square. 4- Stop by the exit station of al-Mahmal. 5- Walk to al-Sayyida ‘A’isha Square and explore the surrounding monuments which include : - Al-Ghuri Mosque - Al-Musabbih Mosque - Al-Hammam Market - Bab al-Qarafa Please note that it will be possible to go back to the al-Sayyida ‘Aisha Market after the tour if one wishes to shop.   Tour Guide: Maissa Mostafa   Tour Date and Time: Saturday, the 30th of October 2021 Meeting time: 09:30 am Tour start time: 10:00 am Tour end time: 12:30 pm Meeting Point: In front of Bab al-’Azab shorturl.at/tzUZ8 Tour Fees: 200 EGP For registration, please fill in this application form: shorturl.at/cmGX8 This guided tour is one of the services provided by Athar Lina Product Line.
