The Prince Claus Fund Mobile Lab will be held in Cairo, Egypt, from 16th to 19th of September 2023, where a dynamic program of public events will take place in collaboration with Tahayyuz and African Architecture Matters.

Panel One: on the Built Environment, discussing the necessity for participation, social justice, and non-extraction. Participants: architect, anthropologist, entrepreneur, and mentor of the Prince Claus Building Beyond Mentorship, Sename Koffi Agbodjinou; artist and mentor of the Prince Claus Building Beyond Mentorship, Ola Hassanain; and Ali Awni, professor of practice and director at The John D. Gerhart Center for Philanthropy, Civic Engagement and Responsible Business at The American University in Cairo (AUC).

Panel Two: Education, discussing the skills and knowledge needed to engage with the built environment. Participants: design researcher and architect Jiaxin Yan Gong; architect, DJ, and 2022 Prince Claus Seed Awardee Thelma Nbdele; journalist, co-founder, and chief editor of Mada Masr, Lina Atallah; and Senegalese Center for Art, Knowledge, and society, RAW Material Company.

Panel Three: Interdisciplinarity and Communication, discussing the necessity for a mindful language of communication between disciplines when dealing with the complex system of problems and opportunities of the built environment. Participants: performer and cultural activist Joy Mboya; architect Samir el-Kurdi; and cultural practitioner, independent curator, and mentor of the Prince Claus Building Beyond Mentorship, Hicham Bouzid.
